I was asked by reader StephanieG awhile ago (in the First Shimmer Jacket post) to post other ways you could wear a metallic blazer. Here’s the pic I took back in September:
Then who do I see wearing the SAME jacket I wore in the previous post? Yes, why that’s Jill Scott at BET’s Black Girls Rock (which aired November 6) :) Here is a photo of how she wore her shimmer jacket:
She chose to wear it with silver sequin pants, a black belt a plain black tank with an embellished necklace.

If you do not want to do a “simple” black, try different textures of the color. You could do that by wearing the shimmer/metallic jacket with sequins, leather, suede, feathers or even fur . Here are some options:
You could also keep it simple by wearing it with a white button up (#2 on the Wardrobe Classics List), or a white tank with a black bottom. Here are some choices for you:
Since the jacket is the show stopper (as it should be
), you don’t necessarily need to pair it with an ultra-bright color. However, you may want your outfit to “pop.” Try pairing the shimmer/metallic jacket with dark jewel-toned colors like purple, pink, blue, or deep red, just to add a hint of color.
